Things to do
Walking – With miles of country walks, whether you enjoy hill walking or a wander along the Brecon-Monmouthshire Canal or River Usk. There are many trails including Usk Valley Walk, Beacons Way and Taff Trail. In the spring Crickhowell holds a walking festival.
The Monmouthshire & Breconshire Canal – In Llangynidr we have a flight of five locks, which is the most rapid change of level on the canal. The canal opened from Gilwern to Llangynidr in 1797, but the flight of locks to Tal-y-bont on Usk was not completed for another two years.
Llangynidr Bridge – Coed-Yr-Ynys Bridge is an early stone 18th century bridge, one of the oldest bridges on the river usk.

Brecon Agriculture Show is the oldest agricultural show in Britain, it’s held on the first Saturday in August.
Green Man festival is held at Glanusk Estate, just 2 miles away in late August.
